“LIVING THINGS”

I wanted to take photos of a moment where we are alive. I put water on the faces and bodies of the models and asked them to hold plants in their hands or mouth. Then I asked them to breathe while they are imagining the flowers as their breath. The flowers are soon to disappear but still alive in this moment. I wanted to remember that our breath is alive in this moment, but will wither just like the flowers.
나는 우리가 살아 있음을 느낄 수 있는 순간을 사진으로 담고 싶었다. 모델들의 얼굴과 몸에 물을 적시고, 식물을 손에 쥐거나 입에 머금도록 했다. 그리고 꽃을 자신의 숨결이라 상상하며 호흡해 달라고 요청했다. 꽃은 곧 사라질 존재이지만, 이 순간만큼은 분명 살아 있다. 나는 우리의 숨 또한 지금 이 순간에는 살아 있으나, 결국 꽃처럼 시들어 간다는 사실을 기억하고 싶었다.
